"...Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.” (Ephesians 5:14)
As Christians, we’re supposed to be holy. But sometimes, we let things slip, and let the world overcome us. If you fall down, you should get right back up. We shouldn’t let our situations determine our mood and state of mind. Christianity is not about doing devotions or prayer, but about really living for God.

Doing those are good, and actually extremely helpful. However we shouldn’t do it out of routine, or because we “have to”. Rather, we should do things to enrich our spiritual lives. As Christians, we shouldn’t “go through the motions”. You shouldn't wait until your preacher tells you what God's Word says. Rather, study it yourself. Why wait, when you have unlimited resources?
Our spiritual lives shouldn’t just be on the surface. If that’s how our spiritual lives are, then we are asleep. They should also reach the inside. That is when we are fully awake. We must be awake in order to fully establish a relationship with God. When God is with you, He reveals things in a new way. It doesn’t matter what others want you to be. What truly matters is God’s plan for you.
Have that ultimate desire to keep learning about God, and to grow in your relationship with Him.
Let God be your alarm clock. It’s time to wake up.
