Everyone always makes resolutions, determined to be a better person. However, it doesn't always work out, and that's okay. So, we now present to you, Dear Future Me.
It's a way to set a goal for you to accomplish by the end of 2014.
How does it work?
You write to your future self. It can be in any type of form: a checklist, a letter, an email, etc. You have only a week to write it. You are to write to yourself, telling yourself the things you wish to achieve in 2014. After the week is up, you are on your honor code to not read the letter until December 31st, 2014.
Feel free to be humorous and creative in how you write!
Can I share my letter in the comments or email?
Sure, but not now. During the last week of the year, we will ask people to send in their resolutions they created, along with their comments on how well they did. We plan to make a gallery of what people wrote. (With personal information omitted, of course.)
Will the Arise Team participate in this?
Yup. We have already written our letters, and gave ourselves a little head start. :)
What if I have a bad memory and can't even remember things from one week ago?
Hmm...that's true, and that stumped us for a while. If you really don't trust your memory, pray for God to help you remember. However, you can also reread the letter every three months, if you'd like.
What if I end up reading the letter before December 31st?
It's fine, mistakes happen. The whole point of the "no peeking till December 31st" is so that it really does feel like a letter. Unless you've got a super good memory, you won't remember everything you wrote.
What if I see this project later, and still want to do it?
Sure, why not? :)
Go ahead! Just remember, you are aiming to accomplish everything by the end of the year.
What can I do after I write the letter?
Store it in a safe place, but set a reminder for you to read it on the 31st. We will also post a reminder on the blog. Also, feel free to share this project with anyone you think might be interested. Then, go out to accomplish those things! God is with you!

Happy New Year!
