Today, our Bible verse tells us about one of God's greatest promises. We shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever. God's house is not just any house, but a very special place. It's an honor to be in His presence. This verse also says that His goodness and mercy shall follow us. Even though we experience His mercy at salvation, His grace is abundant. He continuously shows us His mercy, regardless of our spiritual state. However, we shouldn't take it for granted, but live a righteous life.
There are times where we find ourselves in the most horrifying place we could possibly be. Depending on your comfort zone, this could range from performing for God on stage to being persecuted for Christ’s sake. Regardless of the circumstances, we have However, this verse lets us know that we can trust him in any situation we are in. You could face death, but as long as you have faith, just relax and know that God will take the lead!
“Religion says do, Jesus says done.” -Jefferson Bethke So what do you think Christianity is? Of course, some of may say it’s a religion. It is a religion to some because it seems that it’s a bunch of rules. The Bible seems like a big rule book, right?
Today we have a common verse, Psalms 23:1. But do we truly understand this verse? When a shepherd watches over his sheep, he risks his life for them. He loves for them and cares for them. This is similar to God. He sent His only Son to die on the cross for his sheep. So when you hear that verse next time, remember to have faith and just praise God because there is a Shepherd who cares for you.
In today's promise, Jesus is telling us about one of His promises to us. He said that He will supply not just some, but all of our needs. So don't depend on Satan, money or this world, because when it all comes down, it really won`t be worth it. Seek God first and He will help you! This is the start of a new segment called "Weekly Promises". Every Sunday, a passage will be shared, along with a thoughtful reflection. We pray that these verses encourage in the Lord. God bless you.
![]() My little brother must think he's Superman. I can't tell you how many times he jumps off of places, throwing caution to the wind. He has no sense of danger, but that's because my family rushes to break his fall. Then he brushes off the dust, and scurries away. And what does he do? He jumps off something else. But when you think about it, it just shows that he has faith in us. He trusts that his family will be there to catch him, so that he is left unscathed. It's amusingly frustrating. But, I want to have that childlike trust. ![]() Easter is a recognition of the death and resurrection of Christ. Jesus died on the cross of Calvary so that we could be saved. He was a literal sacrifice, the Lamb that shed His blood to appease God. Without His sacrifice we would end up in eternal damnation. Without bloodshed, there would be no escape from hell. Without God's mercy, we would be living a useless life. But His death on the cross has put us in the time of grace. His death was the marriage proposal, beckoning the Church to be His Bride. "Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?” ![]() This phrase is familiar in the classic princess story of Snow White. But don't we all each look at ourselves in the mirror and ask that question? I mean, in today’s society, the pressure on us to be beautiful is huge. We want affection and we want people to accept us. However, we don't have a magic mirror that tells us how pretty we are. |
