"Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?”
This phrase is familiar in the classic princess story of Snow White. But don't we all each look at ourselves in the mirror and ask that question? I mean, in today’s society, the pressure on us to be beautiful is huge. We want affection and we want people to accept us. However, we don't have a magic mirror that tells us how pretty we are.
We have something bigger and better, we have God. We know in God’s Word that we are fearfully and wonderfully made in His image. This Earth that God created is beautiful. So why should you doubt your beauty? (Gen. 1:27, Ps.134:14).
Yet, we don't feel that beauty inside of us. That’s because the media is a major influence on our self-esteem. We look at magazines of models and how beautiful they are. Then, you look at yourself and say, "I am too fat" or "I don't have the right skin tone". Guys feel like they need to look buff, and girls want to be skinnier.
The world has a skewed perspective of beauty. Females especially become affected because of the "less is more" mentality:

We try so hard to fit in the "beauty" standards of the world that we don't just change our appearance. We also change our act. The word 'modesty' has really lost its meaning in our lives. Some don't even really know what that is. It means having or showing consideration for the decencies of behavior, speech and dress. An example of decency is a modest neckline on a dress.

For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people.
For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.
For beautiful hair, let a child run his or her fingers through it once a day.
For poise, walk with the knowledge you'll never walk alone.
People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived,
reclaimed, and redeemed; Never throw out anybody.
Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you'll find one at the end of your arm.
As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands:
one for helping yourself, the other for helping others.
The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears,
the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair.
The beauty of a woman must be seen in her eyes
because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides.
The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mole,
but true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul.
