“You’re the worst parents ever!”
Do you ever find yourself saying this to your parents, or even thinking it? Do you feel like your parents don’t love you...even though you know they do? Do you feel like they don’t understand how you feel?
Well, believe me I've been in that position, where I hated my parents so much. Every day, we fought because they would do the most annoying things, and I just wanted them to stop. Well if I may, I will give you my own experience. At the time, I was 12 years old...

We had to do our family devotional time and my back was hurting like I was stabbed. Yes, it hurt that bad. Well, my sister didn’t help me and I felt like I had been treated unfairly. I began to be filled with anger until I became 13. I decide that my parents won’t do what they want to do to me anymore. I felt my rights were being taken from me.
So one faithful day, I became a Christian. I was determined that I would establish a good relationship with my parents. It was like everything changed overnight; I love my parents now. At times they might annoy me, but it all works out. So, I’m not saying having a good relationship with your parents is just an overnight thing. No, I’m saying that you need to ask God to help you love your parents. Even though it seems impossible, nothing is impossible with God.
Tips on How to Deal With Parents:
1. Pray to God for help and read your Bible, it has all the answers you need.
2. When your parents start to get on your nerves, wait until you're calm before talking. You'll regret 99% of the things you say when you're angry. You could go in your room and stay there, maybe you can do some homework.
3. Don’t roll eyes or talk back to your parents. Even though you don’t realize it, it makes them cry inside.
4. Do something nice for your parents. You could have a bonding day with one of your parents alone. Also, doing your chores, or cleaning that messy room they've been nagging you about can be just the trick. You'll be surprised by how happy they can be.
5. Talk to your parents about how you feel, and what makes you mad. Many people think it's pointless, but it's really not. Even if you don't feel that they still understand you, pray for God to reveal to them your view of things
6. If you get in a big argument, go back. Humble yourself and apologize to them. If you ever need to tell them that they are in the wrong, do so with humility.
7. Obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. (Ephesians 6:1)
God gave you these parents for a reason. They may not be perfect, but they're still your parents. Even though it's hard, don't give in to the urge to disrespect them. Because when you do, you're indirectly disrespecting God.
